Due to the public health crisis surrounding COVID-19, all Brainstorm Brain Awareness Week events have been suspended until further notice.
The situation is incredibly fluid and we will continue to monitor the infectious disease dynamics of COVID-19. However, for the safety of UC Berkeley volunteers and Brain Awareness Week participants, we are officially cancelling all events through the end of March.
We hope that Brain Awareness Week events will resume at some point this year, but in the meantime we encourage you to practice social distancing to flatten the curve and ensure the safety of those who are particularly vulnerable to the virus.
To help combat the hysteria and dissemination of misinformation on the subject, here are a few tips to prevent the spread of COVID-19:
1. Wash your hands well and often: if you are remaining indoors, washing your hands is a preferable alternative to using hand sanitizer.
2. Cough into your elbow: to prevent virus transmission to others, shield your coughs using your elbow.
3. Do not touch your face: to prevent transmission from your hands to your face (after touching a surface contaminated with COVID-19), refrain from touching your face.
4. Stay 6 feet away from others: droplets expelled from a COVID-19 containing cough will fall to the ground within 6 feet due to gravity.
5. Stay home: if you're feeling sick or have flu-like symptoms, stay at home to avoid spreading the virus to others.
Stay safe and healthy!
